Selected participants will evaluate rental-based, AI-enabled display technology intended for storefronts, public spaces and other glass-facing installations.

Worldwide Digital Signage is preparing a controlled global alpha program for daylight-visible displays designed for installation against glass. Selected traditional and digital sign companies will be invited to test the technology in real-world settings and provide feedback ahead of broader availability.

The display concept combines digital content with a glass-facing installation approach that uses a vinyl treatment and breathable backing. Potential applications include storefront promotions, restaurant specials, financial information, school communications, municipal wayfinding, transportation information and public-service messaging.

The alpha program is expected to use a rental model, reducing the initial commitment for participating sign companies. Distribution will remain limited during the early stage so the technology and installation approach can be evaluated systematically before any wider deployment.

Conversational AI is planned as a central part of the user experience. Authorized users would be able to update screen content using natural-language instructions, with the aim of reducing the learning curve associated with managing digital signage. Potential uses include changing daily rates at a financial institution, updating restaurant specials and publishing timely community information.

The program is intended to complement established sign-industry expertise by giving sign companies another product category to offer, install and support.

WWDS is seeking potential participants in Canada, the United States, the Philippines and other markets. Sign companies, municipalities, schools, transportation organizations, civic groups and other organizations exploring communications through glass-facing displays are invited to request information about eligibility, testing expectations and availability.

A 55-inch model is also under consideration for future development, subject to successful testing and final technical validation. Potential applications range from public artwork and routine information to emergency instructions and wayfinding.
